Crafting With The Girls On St. Patricks Day

Crafting with the girls...

Karen, Kathleen and of course Sami, they came over and we did the "HOPPY EASTER" blocks.  We had a blast!  Sami, who knew she was only eight years old.  She kept up with us like a pro crafter.  Thank you girls so much for allowing me to share my joy and passion with you and for your encouragement to follow my dreams.

The finished products...Love you guys.

Vic's "HOPPY EASTER" blocks

Look at what my sweet friend made...

It looks super displayed on you counter.  Thanks so much my friend first for your friendship and for your never ending support and encouragement, I love you!!  I'm gonna start on my spring wreath, still trying to decide if I should use decorative eggs or just flowers.  Oh decisions decisions...

My New Guilty Pleasure

I just attended my very first "Art Group" at The Little Blue House. OMG, I'm so addicted. We learned several new (to me) techniques using the Tim Holtz Distress Markers. First of all while I do confess to being a collector of stamping stuff, such as ink pads...acrylic stamps...markers...just to name a few, I didn't know what to do with them.  I'm sure I'm not alone on that LOL. I had so much fun and can't wait to start experimenting with the 5 new markers I bought today.  I am going to put together an art journal to keep good notes on the new cool stuff I'm learning.  Thanks Susan you rock!!

Here are just a few tags I made.

Fast update on the beautiful chandelier I found at Goodwill.  I just have a few touch ups to do, add the crystals, and finally hang it in my craft room.

HOPPY EASTER

 Hoppy Easter Y'all

Hoppy Easter Blocks...Yea another "Pinterest" idea with a few of my own touches.  The block are complements of my talented husband Big Jack.  Its such a plus to have a wood worker at my disposal.  I show him a pic and poof...its cut and in my craft room ready for me to work my magic.  The color in the blocks make me want to dye eggs, well I'm just saying.  I'm sure the nice weather has helped my spring fever along too.  Any way, I wanted to share the blocks with my friends and to let you all know I have put together the kits to make them.  I will also be hosting a class at the Hen House on March 5th from 6:30pm-9:00pm and again on March 8th same time.  But don't worry if you cant make those dates, as I mentioned I have the kits along with instruction on making them ready for you to pick up.  The class cost is $25.00. To register you can call or email me.

Spring Is In The Air

Spring is in the air... Well at times it seems it's so. But having lived in Texas most of my life I know all to well the weather changes on a dime. This week however has started my creative wheels to start its slow squeaky turning. I have so many projects for Jack to get started (hush don't you dare utter a word bout PINTEREST) he has no idea what's about to come his way. Oh well I'm so blessed to have such a gifted husband.

Look at my find for the week!!  Went to Goodwill to look for a lamp but stumbled on this diamond in the rough.   I took all the crystals off to clean them, I'll have to replace some but it will look amazing hanging over my desk in my craft room.  Cant wait to finish it.

All that gitters...

Was looking high and low for small, I mean really small salt/pepper shakers.  Found a few at a local antique shop, but at $5.00 a pop it would take me for ever to get 18.  In one of my trips to the local craft store I found the perfect salt and pepper shakers and the price was perfect $1.00 each.  Paired with my Dollar Tree platter and it makes a sparkling display on my desk.  I Love it.

Happy Birthday... Vic & Kristin

Spent the day with a few of my closest friends to celebrate birthdays and get some long over due crafting time in. We ate cake and shared "wine" (mason jar style...thanks Bob). Can't wait till we do it again.

I "Love" this...it originally started out with beautiful paper flowers made from old book pages, then Kristin added the pink flowers with  pretty pearl centers and Missy added the finishing touch with  the cloth flowers.
